Local Tech Startup, Sequel, Selected to Present at North America’s Leading Blockchain Summit

Sequel,1 founded by Cape Girardeau software engineer, Alan Long, was invited to deliver a live pitch on stage during the summit and present investment opportunities to some of the most active investors and VCs in the web3 space. The three-day event included some of the brightest minds of the blockchain ecosystem and a star-studded panel of keynote speakers, including DGHS founding partners Tim Draper, Alon Goren, and Josef Holm.

Sequel is one of the companies participating in Codefi’s 2022 1ST50K Accelerator.2 Local entrepreneurs and coaches assist companies in the program with tactics to accelerate growth including product development, customer acquisition, and raising investment capital. “Alan is a great example of what’s possible for local entrepreneurs and tech startups when the community just lends a helping hand. Sequel has the potential to create outstanding economic impact in our region,” said Dr. James Stapleton, co-founder of Codefi.3
Codefi has awarded $700,000 in grants to 1ST50K teams since 2015. A recent labor market analytics and economic data research study concluded that for every $1 awarded to these companies since 2019, more than $7 is generated in annual direct, indirect, and induced economic impact – which includes annual wages on new jobs created and changes in taxes on production and imports.
